Introduction
Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, a subsidiary of Infineon Technologies, is an American semiconductor design and manufacturing business. It had NOR flash memories, F-RAM and SRAM Traveo microcontrollers, the industry's only PSoC programmable system-on-chip solutions, analog and PMIC Power Management ICs, CapSense capacitive touch-sensing controllers, Wireless BLE Bluetooth Low-Energy and USB connectivity solutions, and Wireless BLE Bluetooth Low-Energy and USB connectivity solutions.
It has operations in the United States, Ireland, India, and the Philippines, with its headquarters in San Jose, California. Broadcom's Wireless Internet of Things Business was acquired by Cypress Semiconductors in April 2016. The transaction was completed in July of 2016. Infineon Technologies stated in June 2019 that it would buy Cypress for $9.4 billion. Infineon will become one of the top ten semiconductor producers in the world if the purchase closes in April 2020.
Microchip Technology, NXP, Renesas, and Micron are some of its primary competitors.

Cypress Semiconductor Acquisition
Since its inception, Cypress has served as an incubator for wholly-owned subsidiaries with some autonomy, as well as acquiring other small technology firms. Furthermore, Cypress has been a frequent buyer of smaller technological firms. In addition, Cypress has spun off some of its technologies into subsidiaries to speed up the development of products like the PSoC Programmable System-on-Chip (SoC), which combines analog and digital components with a microcontroller on a single chip to create a comprehensive embedded system solution. Acquisitions made since the early 1990s include:
