What are the differences between the types of STMicroelectronics FlightSense™ series Optical Sensors?

The STMicroelectronics FlightSense™ series Optical Sensors are available in three different types: Time-of-Flight (ToF), Proximity, and Ambient Light. Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors measure the time it takes for a light pulse to travel from the sensor to an object and back. This type of sensor is used to measure distances and can be used for applications such as gesture recognition, 3D mapping, and object tracking. Proximity sensors measure the distance between the sensor and an object. This type of sensor is used for applications such as touchless control, presence detection, and motion sensing. Ambient Light sensors measure the amount of light in the environment. This type of sensor is used for applications such as automatic brightness control, color temperature adjustment, and ambient light sensing.
