Power supply designers often find it challenging to fit all of the capacitors they need in the board space they have to work with. Conventional stacked capacitors using metal lead frames can fit more capacitance into less space, but they present performance, thermal, and assembly problems. KEMET’s KONNEKT technology is a high-density packaging technology that uses a transient liquid phase sintering process that bonds multiple MLCCs in a stack as a single surface mount component. The process occurs at low temperatures to prevent damage to the capacitors, but the resulting reacted metal matrix has a high melting point that is compatible with lead-based and lead-free solder reflow profiles.

C0G series ceramic capacitors are surface mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (SMD MLCC) manufactured using C0G dielectric with high Q, low loss angle tangent, high stability, and high reliability. They also incorporate KEMET's innovative technologies such as KONNEKT technology and FT-CAP technology to improve package density and mechanical strength.

The main features of C0G series Ceramic capacitors may be summarized as follows:

1. C0G dielectric is a stable, temperature-compensated, Class I material suitable for resonant circuit applications.

2. Operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.

3. RoHS and REACH are compliant and lead-free.

4. EIA 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, 1808, 1812, 1825, 2220, and 2225 these package sizes.

5. Voltage ratings are 10 V, 16 V, 25 V, 50 V, 100 V, 200 V, and 250 V.

6. Capacitance values range from 0.5 pF to 0.47 μF with tolerances of ±0.10 pF, ±0.25 pF, ±0.5 pF, ±1%, ±2%, ±5%, ±10% and ±20%.

7. No piezoelectric noise, extremely low equivalent series resistance (ESR), and equivalent series inductance (ESL)

8. High thermal stability, and high ripple current capability.
