The POLY-FUSE®, 1206L series PTC Resettable Fuses from Littelfuse Inc. are a type of Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) device made to safeguard delicate electronic circuits from overcurrent. These compact resettable fuses are offered in a package with a standard 1206 size. In normal operation, they have a low resistance value, but when an overcurrent event happens, the resistance rises sharply in a matter of seconds, shielding the electronics downstream from harm. PTC resettable fuses may "reset" themselves and continue their normal performance when the overcurrent event has passed, unlike conventional fuses that need to be replaced after being tripped. The 1206L series PTC resettable fuses are suited for use in a wide range of applications across many different industries, including consumer electronics, automotive systems, telecommunications equipment, and medical devices. They offer a wide range of hold currents, from 0.05A to 2.5A. These fuses are halogen-free and RoHS compliant, making them safe for the environment.
