The SAM D21E series of microcontrollers from Microchip Technology come in three different types: the SAM D21E, SAM D21E Xplained Pro, and SAM D21E Xplained Ultra.   The SAM D21E is the basic version of the microcontroller and is designed for general purpose applications. It features a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ processor, up to 32KB of Flash memory, and up to 8KB of SRAM. It also has a wide range of peripherals, including a 10-bit ADC, a 10-bit DAC, and a variety of communication interfaces.  The SAM D21E Xplained Pro is an enhanced version of the SAM D21E. It features an additional 32KB of Flash memory, up to 16KB of SRAM, and a variety of additional peripherals, including a 12-bit ADC, a 12-bit DAC, and a variety of communication interfaces. It also includes an on-board debugger and a range of expansion headers for connecting external components.  The SAM D21E Xplained Ultra is the most advanced version of the SAM D21E. It features an additional 64KB of Flash memory, up to 32KB of SRAM, and a variety of additional peripherals, including a 16-bit ADC, a 16-bit DAC, and a variety of communication interfaces. It also includes an on-board debugger and a range of expansion headers for connecting external components. Additionally, it includes a range of on-board sensors, including a temperature sensor, a light sensor, and a 3-axis accelerometer.
