What are the differences between the types of Microchip Technology tinyAVR™ 1 series Microcontrollers?

The tinyAVR 1 series microcontrollers are available in three different types: ATtiny4/5/9/10, ATtiny20/40, and ATtiny1617/1614/1604.   The ATtiny4/5/9/10 microcontrollers are the smallest and most basic of the three types. They are designed for low-power applications and feature up to 8KB of Flash memory, up to 512B of SRAM, and up to 256B of EEPROM. They also have up to 8 I/O pins and up to 4 timers.  The ATtiny20/40 microcontrollers are slightly larger and more powerful than the ATtiny4/5/9/10. They feature up to 16KB of Flash memory, up to 1KB of SRAM, and up to 512B of EEPROM. They also have up to 14 I/O pins and up to 6 timers.  The ATtiny1617/1614/1604 microcontrollers are the largest and most powerful of the three types. They feature up to 32KB of Flash memory, up to 2KB of SRAM, and up to 1KB of EEPROM. They also have up to 20 I/O pins and up to 8 timers.
