What are the differences between the types of Xilinx Inc. Spartan®-6 LX series FPGAs?

The Spartan-6 LX series FPGAs are available in three different types: LX9, LX16, and LX25.   The LX9 FPGA has the smallest amount of logic resources, with 9,152 logic cells, 144 Kbits of block RAM, and four DSP slices. It is the most cost-effective option for applications that require a low-cost FPGA with basic logic and DSP capabilities.  The LX16 FPGA has more logic resources than the LX9, with 16,384 logic cells, 288 Kbits of block RAM, and eight DSP slices. It is a good choice for applications that require more logic and DSP resources than the LX9, but still need to remain cost-effective.  The LX25 FPGA has the most logic resources, with 25,600 logic cells, 480 Kbits of block RAM, and twelve DSP slices. It is the best choice for applications that require the most logic and DSP resources, but still need to remain cost-effective.
