I. Introduction

DIP switch is an address switch used for operation control, using the principle of 0/1 binary coding. DIP switches are often used in PLC control. There are two types of DIP switches, one is the BCD code switch, that is, the value of DIP switches from 0 to 9, and the output is 8421 BCD code. The other is hexadecimal code, which is 0~F, and the output is binary code. DIP switches can easily change data.

As a micro switch that needs to be manually operated, the DIP switch is widely used in many equipment products such as communication and security. There are two pins on the top and bottom of the back of each key corresponding to the DIP switch. When the switch is set to ON, the two pins below are connected; otherwise, it is disconnected. These four keys are independent and not related to each other. Such components are mostly used for binary coding.

If you set the code: 1 for on; 0 for off, then:

2. How to use an 8 Position DIP switch

① Main circuit

The whole process of input from AC grid and output from DC, including:

A. Input filter: Its function is to filter out the clutter existing in the power grid, and at the same time prevent the clutter generated by the machine from being fed back to the public grid.

B. Rectification and filtering: Directly rectify the AC power of the grid into a smoother DC for the next stage of transformation.

C. Inverter: Convert the rectified direct current into a high-frequency alternating current, which is the core part of the high-frequency switching power supply. The higher the frequency, the smaller the ratio of volume, weight, and output power.

D. Output rectification and filtering: Provide stable and reliable DC power supply according to load requirements.

②Control circuit

On the one hand, samples are taken from the output terminal and compared with the set standard, and then the inverter is controlled to change its frequency or pulse width to achieve stable output. On the other hand, according to the information provided by the test circuit, the protection circuit is identified and provided The control circuit carries out various protection measures for the whole machine.

③Detection circuit

In addition to providing various parameters in operation in the protection circuit, it also provides various display instrument data.

④ auxiliary power supply

Provide different power supplies for all single circuits.

DIP switch is equivalent to a switch value. When it is turned on, it means on, and off means off. In digital circuits, 0 and 1 are usually used for binary input. The smallest system board of this subject uses an eight-position DIP switch as a byte input. When it is turned ON, it is equivalent to input "1", and the default input is "0".

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a DIP switch used for?

A DIP switch is a set of electrical switches packaged in a small box or housing. They are designed to be mounted on printed circuit boards to provide a range of electrical inputs to an electronic device based on the position of the individual switches. Typically, they are arranged in a line or circle (rotary DIP).

How do you tell if a dip switch is on or off?

The slide switch has a raised slider that slides toward or away from the "on" indicator. When the switch is nearest the word "ON", the switch is on. Otherwise, it is off.

How do you adjust a DIP switch?

Remove the receiver box cover to look at the dip switch settings. You will see four sliding buttons. The button configuration must match the remote control's configuration. Change the dip switch settings if necessary, moving each of the four switches to the matching "On" or "Off" settings.

A solenoid switch is an electrical switch that is often used where a high current circuit, namely a starter motor circuit, is brought into operation with the aid of a low current switch. This switch switches a durable switch on to connect the vehicle's battery to the starter of the motor. A solenoid switch attaches the drive pinion to the starter until the ignition key is triggered. High performance, reliability, and longevity are the key characteristics of solenoid switches.
