The PCA9306 is a dual bidirectional I2C and SMBus voltage-level translator with an enable (EN) input. It is operational from 1.2 V to 3.3 V VREF1 and 1.8 V to 5.5 V VREF2. The device allows bidirectional voltage translations between 1.2 V and 5 V, without the use of a direction pin. It has a low ON-state resistance (RON) that enables connections to be made with minimal propagation delay

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the similar products or Substitute Components of Texas Instruments PCA9306 series Voltage Translators & Level Shifters
NXP Semiconductors PCA9306: NXP offers a voltage translator and level shifter that is functionally equivalent to the Texas Instruments PCA9306. It provides bidirectional voltage translation between two different voltage domains and is compatible with I2C bus communication. ON Semiconductor NC7SZ04: The NC7SZ04 is a single-bit, dual-supply voltage translator and level shifter. It can translate signals between two voltage levels and is commonly used in applications where a low-power, compact solution is required. Fairchild Semiconductor FXL2TD245: The FXL2TD245 is a bidirectional voltage translator and level shifter with auto-direction sensing. It supports translation between different voltage levels and is suitable for applications involving bidirectional data communication.
How do I choose the right voltage translator for my project?
Know your interface: Understand the voltage levels and signaling protocols used by the devices you want to connect. This includes the supply voltages, logic levels, and communication standards. Consider the voltage translation direction: Determine whether you need a unidirectional or bidirectional voltage translator. Unidirectional translators are suitable when signals only need to go in one direction, while bidirectional translators allow signals to be translated in both directions. Evaluate signal integrity requirements: If your application requires high signal integrity, consider using direction-controlled translators. These translators offer flexibility, ease of use, and excellent signal integrity for one-to-one communication between devices.
