The audio codec is a small component in earbuds that transform digital values into an analog electrical waveform.
The waveform is sent to the voice coil which is located at the back of the diaphragm. In response to this electrical waveform, the coil is moved from one end to the other. This motion moves the diaphragm, due to which pressure waves are created in the air. Wave pressure is recognized by our ears, and sound is interpreted by our brains.
