It features a MAX30102 optical biosensor from Maxim Integrated, which is a complete optical sensing system that integrates a red and an infrared LED, a photodetector, and a low-noise analog signal processing chain. The board is designed to measure the heart rate of a person by detecting the changes in the amount of light reflected from the skin. It is capable of detecting the heart rate of a person in the range of 30 to 250 beats per minute (BPM). The board also features an onboard 3.3V regulator, which allows it to be powered from a single 3.3V power supply. The board is also equipped with an I2C interface, which allows it to be easily interfaced with a microcontroller.
