The Differences Between PN2222 And 2N2222

How much current can a PN2222 handle?
The PN2222 is distinguished from comparable transistors by its ability to switch between high current loads of up to 800 mA. According to different datasheets, this current load could be substantially lower, although the PN2222A always manages high current loads when compared to other transistors.
What is the difference between 2N2222 and 2N2222A?
In terms of Vceo, Vcbo, and Vebo, the 2n2222A performs slightly better. However, if you do not intend to stress the part (by using higher voltages, for example), both will perform well, especially for simple switching and logic circuits. The 2n2222 component is an older style part, which may explain why it is being provided at such a low price.
